Hosting & server logs
When you open this site, the host automatically stores access data (IP address, date/time, page requested, browser type) in server log files. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (secure, stable operation).
Anonymous analytics (no cookies)
We run our own anonymous usage statistic — without cookies, without accessing your device storage and without sharing data. Only aggregated, non-personal events are stored: pages viewed, filters and searches used, clicks on booking links, device class (phone/tablet/desktop) and, if present, the domain of the referring site. No IP addresses are stored, no cross-device identifiers are formed and no profiles are built. Legal basis: legitimate interest in privacy-friendly demand analysis (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). As nothing is stored or read on your device, no consent under § 25 TDDDG is required — so there is no cookie banner.
Shortlist
Your saved shortlist is stored only locally in your browser (localStorage); no personal data is transmitted to us.
Maps, weather & embedded resources
Map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap/CARTO, live weather from Open-Meteo, and design libraries and listing thumbnails from content delivery networks and Booking’s image servers. When these load, your IP address is transmitted to the respective provider. We use these solely to display the page. Some blog articles additionally embed YouTube videos in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com — no cookies are set before you press play) and OpenStreetMap map views; these load only on the articles concerned and likewise transmit your IP address to the provider when displayed.
External booking links
Affiliate links take you to external booking portals (Stay22 and online travel agencies); their own privacy policies apply once you leave this site. A commission is attributed via a tracking parameter.
Newsletter (“The Tiny House Letter”)
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we process your email address (plus, optionally, your language preference and the source of your sign-up) to send you the newsletter. We use double opt-in: you only receive the newsletter after confirming your address via the link in the confirmation email; we log the confirmation to be able to prove your consent. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email; your address will then be removed from the mailing list.
Dispatch is handled by our processor Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Str. 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany) on the basis of a data processing agreement. Brevo stores the data in the EU and measures standard dispatch statistics (opens, clicks) that help us improve the newsletter. Details: Brevo privacy policy.
