Tiny House Atlas

Tiny houses in Czech Republic

The Czech Republic's verified cabins sit in its two great mountain forests: Krkonoše, the Giant Mountains, and Šumava, the Bohemian Forest along the German border.

Krkonoše is the highest range in the country, its ridgelines forming the natural border with Poland, and its slopes covered in spruce forest that turns into open, wind-scoured tundra above the treeline. Villages like Strážné, in the valley below the peaks, are old ski and hiking bases, dotted with traditional wooden mountain chalets.

Šumava, in the far south, is a different kind of wild: one of Central Europe's largest unbroken forests, straddling the border with Bavaria and protected on both sides as national park. It is quieter and less developed than Krkonoše, with peat bogs, glacial lakes and deep old-growth stretches where lynx still roam.

The stays we have verified in these two ranges are proper mountain chalets rather than architect tiny houses — wooden, family-sized, built for exactly this kind of forest holiday. Winter (December–March) brings skiing to both ranges; June to September is best for hiking, when the high routes are clear of snow. Our verified selection here is still small, one confirmed stay per range — we keep checking as we go.

How we choose what counts as a tiny house

Booking sites don’t have a “tiny house” category — they file these stays under the generic “Accommodation” label. So we check every place by name and type and list only genuine free-standing small homes: tiny houses (on wheels or fixed), cabins, glamping pods, shepherd huts, yurts, domes and tree houses. No hotel rooms, no ordinary apartments.

Prices and availability come from our booking partners and can change at any time. Booking links are affiliate links — booking through them supports this site at no extra cost to you. Property type is checked from the listing name and category; if you spot a mistake, let us know.
