CabinLake Atitlán · Guatemala
Guatemala's verified cabins sit on the shores of Lake Atitlán, the volcanic crater lake ringed by three towering volcanoes in the highlands above Sololá.
7 verified tiny houses · see on the map →
Lake Atitlán fills an enormous volcanic caldera, its steep shores dotted with a string of Maya villages — each with its own dress, dialect and market day — and framed by the volcanoes Atitlán, Tolimán and San Pedro. There are no roads around most of the lake; getting between villages usually means a small motor launch, or lancha, crossing the water instead.
Our verified stays sit in two of those villages: San Pedro La Laguna, a laid-back travellers' hub known for Spanish schools, cheap cafés and lakeside yoga, and Santa Cruz La Laguna, a quieter spot popular with divers exploring the lake's clear, deep water. Both are proper lakeside cabins rather than architect tiny houses — one to two bedrooms, room for up to four.
November to April is the dry season and the easiest time to travel the lake by boat; May to October brings the rains, heaviest in the afternoons, though mornings often stay clear. Our verified selection here is still small — three confirmed stays across two villages, with the rest of the lake's dozen-plus towns still to check.

Booking sites don’t have a “tiny house” category — they file these stays under the generic “Accommodation” label. So we check every place by name and type and list only genuine free-standing small homes: tiny houses (on wheels or fixed), cabins, glamping pods, shepherd huts, yurts, domes and tree houses. No hotel rooms, no ordinary apartments.
Prices and availability come from our booking partners and can change at any time. Booking links are affiliate links — booking through them supports this site at no extra cost to you. Property type is checked from the listing name and category; if you spot a mistake, let us know.
