Tiny house On wheels / movableAt a glance
Nassfeld sits in Carinthia, right up against the Italian border, and trades on being one of the sunnier, snow-reliable ski areas in the Austrian Alps — a broad, family-friendly slope network backed by a proper Alpine village at the base. Summer flips the resort into hiking and mountain-biking terrain, with the same lift network reopening for it.
The five stays we have verified here are proper wooden chalets rather than architect tiny houses, most sleeping up to six across two or three bedrooms — built for ski weeks and family groups rather than solo off-grid stays. Several come with saunas, a standard feature of the region's chalet culture after a day on the slopes.
December to March is ski season and by far the busiest stretch; June to September brings hiking, biking and much quieter, cheaper stays in the same chalets. Our verified selection here is still small and concentrated in one resort — the rest of Austria's mountain regions are still to check.

Why book through the atlas
Every place is checked by name and type before it goes live — no hotel rooms, no ordinary apartments.
These stays we confirmed with an outside source on top, and amenities like hot tubs count only once verified — never guessed.
Your booking completes on Booking.com or Vrbo at their price. The atlas earns a small commission, at no cost to you.
Good to know
Where in Austria are the verified chalets?
In Nassfeld, a ski resort in Carinthia, in southern Austria near the Italian border.
What is Nassfeld known for?
Reliable snow and plenty of sunshine for an Alpine resort, a broad family-friendly ski area, and hiking and biking in summer on the same slopes.
When is the best time to visit?
December to March for skiing, the busiest and most expensive season; June to September for hiking and biking, quieter and cheaper.
Are these tiny houses or ski chalets?
Traditional wooden ski chalets, most with two or three bedrooms and room for up to six guests, several with saunas — not architect-built tiny houses.
How we choose what counts as a tiny house
Booking sites don’t have a “tiny house” category — they file these stays under the generic “Accommodation” label. So we check every place by name and type and list only genuine free-standing small homes: tiny houses (on wheels or fixed), cabins, glamping pods, shepherd huts, yurts, domes and tree houses. No hotel rooms, no ordinary apartments.
The atlas currently lists 2632 hand-checked small stays across 363 destinations in 75 countries — 1484 of them additionally verified through independent research with a documented source.
Prices and availability come from our booking partners and can change at any time. Booking links are affiliate links — booking through them supports this site at no extra cost to you. Property type is checked from the listing name and category; if you spot a mistake, let us know.
