Tiny house On wheels / movableDrenthe · Netherlands
The Netherlands' verified stays cluster in its quiet inland provinces — Drenthe, the Veluwe and Twente — flat, green, cycling-friendly country rather than the crowded coast.

Drenthe is the country's slow-travel province, dotted with prehistoric hunebedden (dolmen tombs) and some of the darkest night skies in the Netherlands — a landscape of heath, forest and farm campsites that has long favoured trekkershutten, simple cabins built for hikers and cyclists passing through. The Veluwe, further west, is the country's largest nature reserve, its heath and forest laced with cycling routes between the Hoge Veluwe National Park and old market towns.
Twente, hard against the German border, rounds things out with rolling farmland and country estates — a quieter, less-visited region good for a long weekend rather than a headline destination.
Our verified stays here are a genuine mix: cabins, a couple of pods, several proper tiny houses, and even a mobile home on the Veluwe — a wider variety of small-stay types than in most single countries in this atlas. May to September is the easy season for cycling and outdoor time in all three provinces; the Netherlands' mild, wet climate means something is bookable nearly year-round. Our verified selection here spans a good cross-section of the country's inland nature provinces, with the coast still to check.

Every place is checked by name and type before it goes live — no hotel rooms, no ordinary apartments.
These stays we confirmed with an outside source on top, and amenities like hot tubs count only once verified — never guessed.

In Drenthe, the Veluwe (Gelderland) and Twente (Overijssel) — all inland, cycling-friendly nature provinces rather than the coast.
Prehistoric hunebedden (dolmen tombs), some of the darkest night skies in the country, and simple trekkershutten cabins built for cyclists and hikers.
A genuine mix — cabins, pods, several proper tiny houses and even a mobile home — more variety of small-stay types than most countries in this atlas.
May to September for cycling and outdoor time, though the mild Dutch climate keeps most stays bookable nearly year-round.
Booking sites don’t have a “tiny house” category — they file these stays under the generic “Accommodation” label. So we check every place by name and type and list only genuine free-standing small homes: tiny houses (on wheels or fixed), cabins, glamping pods, shepherd huts, yurts, domes and tree houses. No hotel rooms, no ordinary apartments.
The atlas currently lists 2632 hand-checked small stays across 363 destinations in 75 countries — 1484 of them additionally verified through independent research with a documented source.
Prices and availability come from our booking partners and can change at any time. Booking links are affiliate links — booking through them supports this site at no extra cost to you. Property type is checked from the listing name and category; if you spot a mistake, let us know.
