Tree house VerifiedSigiriya & Dambulla · Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka's verified stays sit in the hill country — the tea plantations of Nuwara Eliya, the ridge town of Ella, and the ancient rock fortress of Sigiriya — rather than the beaches.

Nuwara Eliya, once the colonial-era hill station the British nicknamed Little England, still has the cool climate, tea estates and faded Victorian buildings to match — a genuine break from the tropical heat of the lowlands, at altitude in the Central Province. Ella, a couple of hours away in Uva Province, is smaller and more backpacker-oriented, famous for the Nine Arch Bridge and hikes up Little Adam's Peak through more tea country.
Sigiriya and Dambulla, in the country's Cultural Triangle, are a different kind of hill country entirely: Sigiriya Rock, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with an ancient palace fortress on top of a sheer 200-metre outcrop, and the nearby Dambulla cave temples, among Sri Lanka's most important Buddhist sites.
Our verified stays here are treehouses and simple cabins — several rated a perfect 10 by past guests — genuinely small builds rather than resort-scale hotels. December to March is the driest, most comfortable season for the hill country and Sigiriya; April to November brings more rain, heaviest around the monsoon changeovers. Our verified selection here spans three very different sides of Sri Lanka, with the coast still to check.

Booking sites don’t have a “tiny house” category — they file these stays under the generic “Accommodation” label. So we check every place by name and type and list only genuine free-standing small homes: tiny houses (on wheels or fixed), cabins, glamping pods, shepherd huts, yurts, domes and tree houses. No hotel rooms, no ordinary apartments.
Prices and availability come from our booking partners and can change at any time. Booking links are affiliate links — booking through them supports this site at no extra cost to you. Property type is checked from the listing name and category; if you spot a mistake, let us know.
