Jahorina itself has serious pedigree: it hosted the women's Alpine skiing events at the 1984 Winter Olympics, and it's still one of the biggest ski areas in the Balkans, a short drive — around 25 kilometres — from Sarajevo. That makes it a genuinely double-season mountain: skiing from December to March, and hiking, mountain biking and cooler summer air from June to September once the snow clears.
The two cabins here are modest, traditional log builds rather than anything resort-scale — closer to a mountain hut you'd rent from a local family than a glamping operation. Prices are the lowest of anywhere we've verified in the wider region, which fits the picture: this is a quiet, still-developing corner of the Balkan cabin scene rather than an established one.
We'll keep checking Bosnia and Herzegovina as we expand — Jahorina's neighbouring mountains and the forests further north are the obvious next places to look, but for now, honestly, this is a small and early listing rather than a full regional guide.
