Staying in a tiny house near Ubud or Sidemen puts you inside the landscape rather than looking at it — bamboo walls, rice-paddy views through open louvres, the sound of water temples and roosters before sunrise. Properties in Sidemen sit on steeper valley walls than Ubud, with fewer tourists and longer rice-terrace walks through working farmland. April through October keeps humidity manageable and rain rare; the dry season is the peak for yoga retreats and temple festivals.
The tiny-house and cabin scene here is dense and creative — A-frames cantilevered over gorges, bamboo pods on raised platforms, open-sided pavilions with outdoor showers. Mount Agung rising to the east gives every east-facing cabin a morning-light ritual that is hard to replicate anywhere else. Tegallalang terraces are 20 minutes north by scooter; Ubud's galleries and markets are never far.

Good to know
When is the best time to visit Ubud and Sidemen?
April through October is Bali's dry season — lower humidity, less rain and the best conditions for rice-terrace walks and outdoor yoga; this is also peak season, so book tiny houses early.
How do I get to Ubud or Sidemen from the airport?
Denpasar's Ngurah Rai Airport is about 1.5 hours by car to Ubud; Sidemen adds another 45 minutes east — pre-booked private drivers are the standard and straightforward option.
What makes tiny houses in Bali different from elsewhere?
Many are built from local bamboo and reclaimed wood by Balinese craftspeople, often open to the surrounding jungle or terraces on at least one side — architecture here is intentionally porous, designed to dissolve the boundary between inside and outside.
How we choose what counts as a tiny house
Booking sites don’t have a “tiny house” category — they file these stays under the generic “Accommodation” label. So we check every place by name and type and list only genuine free-standing small homes: tiny houses (on wheels or fixed), cabins, glamping pods, shepherd huts, yurts, domes and tree houses. No hotel rooms, no ordinary apartments.
Prices and availability come from our booking partners and can change at any time. Booking links are affiliate links — booking through them supports this site at no extra cost to you. Property type is checked from the listing name and category; if you spot a mistake, let us know.
