Nobody publishes prices for a category the booking platforms don't even have — so we computed them ourselves. The table below shows the median price of a night in a verified tiny house, cabin or small stay for every country where we track at least five priced houses. At publication in August 2026 that is 61 countries, computed from 2,631 verified stays; the table itself is live and recalculates as the atlas grows.
Method in one paragraph, because a price index is only as honest as its method: prices are snapshots for a two-night stay roughly three weeks ahead, pulled from our booking partners for exactly the houses we have individually verified — no hotels, no apartments diluting the numbers. We use the median, not the average, so one €900 glass lodge cannot drag a whole country upward. Countries with fewer than five priced stays are excluded rather than guessed.
The headline numbers
The global median across the whole atlas is €204 a night. The span around it is enormous: a verified small stay costs a median €27 in Cambodia and €349 in Austria — a factor of thirteen for the same idea, a small house of your own with nature outside the door.
The cheapest tier is South-East Asia: Cambodia (€27), Nicaragua (€33), Vietnam (€34), Thailand (€36) — and Indonesia at €35 with 134 verified stays, the deepest budget market we track. The most expensive tier is not where most people guess: Austria leads the entire index at €349, ahead of Iceland (€322), Israel (€310) and the United States (€290 — across 989 verified stays, by far the biggest tiny house market in the atlas).
The value sweet spot
Price and quality are barely correlated in this category — the interesting quadrant is cheap and excellent. Four countries stand out at publication: Serbia (median €71, guest rating 9.8 — the best-rated tiny house country in our data), Argentina (€59, 9.5), Peru (€54, 9.4) and Georgia (€99, 9.4). If your only criterion is the most cabin for the least money, that is the shortlist. The full ratings story has its own article: the best-rated tiny house countries.
The central-Europe read
Germany sits mid-field at €180 — cheaper than the UK (€188), Italy (€184) and Slovenia (€186), and just half of neighbouring Austria's €349. The border makes a difference elsewhere too: Poland's median is €117 with a 9.5 rating, making it central Europe's quiet bargain; Switzerland (€231) and Belgium (€237) price like the alpine premium without the alps.

How to use it
Two practical readings. If the destination is fixed, the index tells you what "normal" costs there, so you can spot a deal. If the destination is open, read it bottom-up: the cheapest third of the table overlaps heavily with the highest ratings. For concrete budget options, the atlas keeps a live list of destinations under €100 a night; for where to actually go in summer, start with the lakes or the sea.
