Müritz National Park, established in 1990, covers about 322 km² on the eastern shore of Lake Müritz, the largest lake lying entirely within Germany, plus the Serrahn beech forest, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Ancient Beech Forests since 2011, with more than 100 lakes and ospreys, white-tailed eagles and cranes.
