Tiny houses in the Faroe Islands

The Faroe Islands sit in the middle of the North Atlantic between Iceland and Norway, eighteen basalt islands stitched together by tunnels and ferries, with sheep on every hillside and more puffins than people in summer. Grass-roofed cottages and old fish houses turned into cabins are a genuine local building tradition here, tucked between the fjords and the seabird cliffs at Vestmanna — and the weather is famous for changing three or four times before lunch, so waterproofs matter more than a sightseeing plan.

Tiny-house-style stays are still a new thing on the islands rather than an established scene, and right now we list a single property here — a small, central retreat rather than a full lineup of cabins. That is worth knowing before you book: this is a first foothold on the Faroes, not yet the choice of five or six places you might get elsewhere, so check availability early and treat it as the start of what we hope becomes a bigger list. What does not change is the setting: Múlafossur waterfall dropping straight into the sea at Gásadalur, the bird cliffs at Vestmanna, and Tórshavn's harbour a short drive away.
