The Sunshine Coast Hinterland is only 90 minutes from Brisbane but it reads as a different world: subtropical rainforest on the Blackall Range, waterfalls that run even in the dry season, and the artisan villages of Montville and Maleny built from local timber and basalt. The Glass House Mountains anchor the eastern view — volcanic plugs rising from the flat Sunshine Coast plain.
