Climate

Mediterranean hill climate; mild spring and autumn.

Ajloun is the green surprise of Jordan - oak and pistachio forest covering hills in the country's north, a world away from the desert image most visitors carry. The tiny-house stock here is all cabins, small family-run chalets scattered through the reserve and the villages around it, several with private jacuzzis and barbecue terraces built for weekend groups rather than solo travelers. Ajloun Castle, a 12th-century Ayyubid fortress built to watch for Crusader movements, is a short drive from most of them.

At an average of 152 euros a night, these cabins sit toward the higher end for the region, reflecting the extras - jacuzzis, full kitchens, mountain views - that come standard rather than as add-ons. Spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) are when the reserve is at its best, with wildflowers or olive harvests depending on the season. Amman is 1.5 hours away, making this an easy add-on to a longer Jordan itinerary rather than a standalone destination.

How we choose what counts as a tiny house

Booking sites don’t have a “tiny house” category — they file these stays under the generic “Accommodation” label. So we check every place by name and type and list only genuine free-standing small homes: tiny houses (on wheels or fixed), cabins, glamping pods, shepherd huts, yurts, domes and tree houses. No hotel rooms, no ordinary apartments.

The atlas currently lists 2632 hand-checked small stays across 363 destinations in 75 countries — 1484 of them additionally verified through independent research with a documented source.

Prices and availability come from our booking partners and can change at any time. Booking links are affiliate links — booking through them supports this site at no extra cost to you. Property type is checked from the listing name and category; if you spot a mistake, let us know.
