The Sacred Valley of the Incas runs between Pisac and Ollantaytambo, a fertile corridor of terraced fields at a lower, gentler altitude than Cusco itself - which is exactly why travelers use it to acclimatize before pushing on to Machu Picchu. The tiny cabins here are simple refugios, several with views straight up at snow-capped peaks, priced at a fraction of what similar mountain stays cost elsewhere.
