Tiny houses & cabins in Cabo Polonio & Valizas

There's no street power and no paved road into Cabo Polonio — the only way in is a 4x4 shuttle that grinds across the dunes from the highway, and once you're there, candles and generators take over after dark. The village sits right against South America's largest sea lion colony, hauled out on the rocks below the lighthouse, and beyond it the dunes of Valizas roll on for kilometres, some of the tallest in Uruguay.

Only a handful of cabañas are listed here, which suits a place that has deliberately stayed small: Cabaña Picaflores and Cabañas PATALSUELO are simple wooden cabins for two to five, while others, like a cabin about 150 metres from the beach or one over in nearby Valizas, share the same basic, unplugged style rather than any resort polish. At an average of 62 EUR a night, it's cheap for the novelty of falling asleep to sea lions and no electric light.
