Tiny houses & cabins in Punta del Diablo

Punta del Diablo started out as a fishing village and still looks it in the older lanes near the two coves, even though summer now brings surfers and beach-goers from across Uruguay and Argentina. Sandy tracks rather than paved streets link the houses, the Atlantic breaks hard along the open beaches, and Santa Teresa National Park's forest and old fort begin right where the last houses stop, an easy walk from the centre.

With 18 cabañas listed, this is one of the coast's biggest clusters of wooden cabins — places like Cabañas Punta Papaya, Casitas Punta Del Diablo and Cabaña El Quique are typical: simple timber cabins for two to six, often a short walk from the sand rather than right on it. Chalet Volga and Cabañas Bien Al Este follow the same pattern. At an average of 64 EUR a night, prices stay reasonable even in the January and February peak, when the village fills up fastest.
