In Los Reartes, about 4 km from La Cumbrecita & Villa General Belgrano · Mountains
La Cumbrecita is Argentina’s only car-free village, a cluster of alpine-style buildings at 1,450 meters in the Sierras Grandes where visitors park at the edge of town and walk in. Cabañas scattered through the surrounding pine forest make it one of Córdoba province’s favorite mountain retreats.

2 hrs southwest of Córdoba city; buses from the main terminal.
Sierra climate at 1,450 m; mild summers, light snow Jun.–Aug.
Founded by a Swiss-German settler in the 1930s, La Cumbrecita still looks the part: sloped roofs, timber balconies, and a network of footpaths and footbridges instead of streets. Cars stop at a lot on the edge of town, and from there everything, hotels, restaurants, and trailheads, is reached on foot. At 1,450 meters it's the highest urban settlement in Córdoba province, which keeps summers mild and winters cold enough for the occasional dusting of snow.
The village works as a hub for hiking in the Sierras Grandes, with trails leading to waterfalls, natural pools, and viewpoints over the valley, most manageable in a few hours round trip. Villa General Belgrano, roughly 30 to 40 kilometers away and founded by the crew of a German warship interned during World War II, adds a very different flavor: half-timbered architecture, breweries, and Argentina's best-known Oktoberfest each October.
Cabañas around La Cumbrecita tend to sit just outside the pedestrian core, tucked into pine forest with views back toward the village roofs. It's a popular weekend trip from Córdoba city, about two hours away, so weekday visits are noticeably quieter.
Roughly 300,000 visitors pass through each year, most as day-trippers, which means overnight guests get the village largely to themselves once the last tour buses leave in the late afternoon.

The village was built without streets for vehicles from the start; visitors park in a lot at the entrance and reach every hotel, shop, and trailhead on foot over a network of paths and bridges.
About 118 kilometers, roughly a two-hour drive, making it a common weekend or day trip from the provincial capital.
Around 30 to 40 kilometers, easily combined into one trip if you want both the alpine village and the German-heritage town with its breweries and Oktoberfest.
Snow is occasional rather than reliable; at 1,450 meters, winters (June to August) are cold enough for the odd light snowfall, though it isn't a dependable winter-sports destination.
Booking sites don’t have a “tiny house” category — they file these stays under the generic “Accommodation” label. So we check every place by name and type and list only genuine free-standing small homes: tiny houses (on wheels or fixed), cabins, glamping pods, shepherd huts, yurts, domes and tree houses. No hotel rooms, no ordinary apartments.
The atlas currently lists 5517 hand-checked small stays across 485 destinations in 79 countries — 3731 of them additionally verified through independent research with a documented source.
