October is the busiest month by far — fall foliage draws huge demand and prices spike accordingly; book 6–8 weeks ahead. Summer weekends around Woodstock also book out fast, while May and November offer value and fewer crowds.
How do I get to the Catskills from New York City without a car?
Trailways and Shortline buses run from Port Authority Bus Terminal to Woodstock, Phoenicia and other Catskills towns in around 2.5 hours; some tiny-house hosts will collect from the bus stop. A car is helpful for more remote properties.
What style of tiny house should I expect in the Catskills?
Expect strong design sensibility — A-frames, cedar cabins and converted barns dominate the market, often with outdoor soaking tubs and fire pits. The Hudson Valley aesthetic (natural materials, good design, farm-to-table ethos) runs through most listings.
