Tiny House Atlas

Tiny houses in the Uwharrie Mountains & Asheboro

The Uwharrie Mountains reach little more than 300 metres above the Piedmont of central North Carolina, but they are the worn-down remains of a volcanic chain some 500 million years old and count among the oldest mountains in North America. Much of it is protected as the Uwharrie National Forest, with the Uwharrie Trail and Badin Lake on the Yadkin River. Asheboro, to the north-east, is home to the North Carolina Zoo, one of the largest natural-habitat zoos in the country, and Seagrove to the south has kept a pottery tradition alive since the 18th century, with dozens of workshops. Raleigh and Charlotte are each about 90 minutes away.

No hotel rooms, no ordinary apartments.
